Control 04:11
We're here for your protection We're here to tell you what to do We're here for your protection We've got our hooks inside of you You would be on a mission You would think everything was free You've got a premonition That sounds like crazy talk to me We're in control It's alright to let go I'm in a traffic camera I've got my eye on your routine You think you're clever, don't you You'll never be so free of me A busy city sidewalk A sparrow soaring on the wind He's got more rights than you do You might as well bow down to me

It's something life beats into your heart You've got to be down on the bottom before you can start Breaking free out of a sandcastle dungeon is art Let the tide carry you up to the top if you're smart As soon as you see the light of day Adrenaline's kicking in and you're running away And it's so nice to feel the free air on your skin Not looking back at the hole you just dug yourself in You are the only thing standing in you're own way Tie a baby elephant to a stone It will still think that it's stuck here long after it's gone Who are you to think you can't make it out here all on your own You break into tears every time that you find you're alone You built it all up, everything you could possibly want Then throw it away like a fish that is tired of the pond You throw it away without a simple leg to stand on Not looking back till it's over and everything's gone You are the only thing standing in you're own way

Glass made of emeralds and light Sapphire blanket of sky All of the trees made of petrified wood And all of the creatures do as they should Say you’ve got something that is gonna come and mess it all up Say that it’s true Tell me all your secrets, tell me a lie, anything Put me in a mood He said or maybe she said that we used to need darkness to see the light Well, I hope they are right All of the people are so smooth None of the hairs on their heads ever move Wearing their clothing of sheep diamond wool It’s never too hot out, it’s never too cool No one ever speaks No one’s ever ill Only yawning cries No one ever dies Wearing suits made of marble-cut Just to sympathize with amethyst ties Everyone is clean, no one ever sings Same color cars, no need for art Think we’re so smart Revolutionaries in the back room Say it’s coming soon Hold it in my hand, try to understand Just a piece of land, water and sand Every since the birth, running from the earth What we used to be, you say there’s no need We think we’re so smart

Goodbye 05:33
Life is like Going blindfold face first down a water slide And it just so happens our slides all collide So we can get together and slide side by side But love is war And continuing along my little metaphor Sometimes our lines divide and then we slide no more The clasp was cracked and then we’re cast to distant shores What did you want to say? Hand in hand As blind as lovers building up a house of sand The tide, it comes and washes away all we planned We’re left with what it was and I’m a muddy man We lose our grip Helplessly we watch as all our fingers slip And up ahead tunnel forms a new divide We find ourselves positioned right on either side And just before you pulled away You told me there was something that you always really needed to say Then you pulled away Now I’ll never know what you wanted to say And it’s gonna drive me wicked! Why’s it so hard To hold on when you’re holding somebody And then when they’re gone You can’t let go anymore All the parts of you that they helped build Are burning like the sword at Eden’s gate The hardest part of a blind and backwards water slide Is something as ridiculous as saying goodbye And just before you pulled away You told me there was something that you always really needed to say Then you pulled away

The Greys 06:49
I’m singing with the birds The sun is going down I’m kicking up some dust There’s no one else around Cabin’s fever is high The doctor comes out and is in He seems like he’s such a nice guy With needles prone under his skin Rumor is I’ve got the greys Left on the inside to waste Losing track of the world’s pace I’ve no mind for my own face I came here to lose all my time I’ve been here for who knows how long If the hands on the clock were both mine Last night would be coming on strong Ash that lit up the snow The quietest storm that you see (Erase everything that you know) The hero made off with the show A shy kiss is the end of me I’m both in and out of a dream Wouldn’t call it thinking Now you’ve poured all the soul out of me Running on empty
7.
God is in your heart and mind He's not up on cloud nine In what you are and what you do Not some blue-blood who writes these rules Heaven's for the poor ones who can't find it here on earth Can't you confess up to it I thought it was your thing Trade it all in for a bunch Of children and a ring Just disclaim the scary things Like science and the truth The world is getting smarter and We must protect our youth Can't you live today for today?
8.
Take off all your clothes Go ahead and jump in It's nearly two a.m. The water kisses your skin Now you've got a moonlight halo Dirt looks fake, it feels so real, though It's all that I can do to keep from dying, now I'm happy Pinwheels on the banks a-blowin' Up is freezing, down is golden Blankets of stars tuck the world in Stay this wild until it's morning It's all that I can do to keep from dying, now I'm happy
9.
Take this as you will I become my beating heart when everything is still And I feel the world in pain Overflowing like a picture painted on the frame I’m supposed to think of bigger things But I get temperamental when it rains It’s easier to smile in all my dreams Than hate the hour when bells begin to ring One day I’ll sit still Bury me in blankets so I might survive the chill Of my picture on the stills Everyone brings flowers that’ll join me while I wilt I am not the man I used be Though I know everything I knew and you used to know me I get temperamental when it rains I get temperamental when it rains Take this as my will Smile and be happy I was living for the thrill Name a star for me Then carve my name into a stone and throw it in the sea I’ve never been so high or so low As in the sky and in the undertow
10.
Head to side, close these eyes Feel the world, it’s turning Align these scars with every star Ignore the ground, it’s burning Blood, it flies, with arrows high In the fog of war Birds won’t fly where grown men cry And then don’t anymore Through my meal, polished steel Pins me to the ground I can’t feel or reveal That I’m still around Though these eyes see just fine Tears cloud a flamed view It’s not right, but lose this fight The whole world forgets you Night falls like it tripped on light And landed in my soul The rain brings peace, the fires cease And embers boldly glow Soon you’ll see that I will me A meal for such things As I’ve stepped on my whole life long To end their suffering Trapped inside a man who died Foot to head with strangers In full stride, hope was high No matter what his aims were A ray of dark grabs me by the neck I see my home, draw my final breath
